Sketch Challenge & Color Challenge

Oh so many challenges and so little time.  That's why I combined the Diva Coffee Break Designs Color Challenge #192 and the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 137.
I made this card for a special friend who just got some really good news as the result of a medical test.  We wanted to let her know how happy the news made us that she is doing so well.  The color challenge was just that -- challenging.  But with Stampin' Up!'s color palette, we can't go wrong.  The base of the card was done with Baja Breeze.  I used the Top Note die to cut out two colors, Rose Red and River Rock.  The River Rock was trimmed along the perforation, distressed on all the edges with the distressing tool in the now retired cutter kit, sponged around the edges with River Rock ink and layered over the Rose Red.  I cut a strip of Not Quite Navy Textured card stock and layered that with a strip of Blueberry Crisp Designer Series Paper.  Out of pieces of Not Quite Navy Textured and Blueberry Crisp scrap paper, I punched two butterflies with the Butterfly Extra Large Punch.  I attached the Not Quite Navy butterfly to a piece of Rose Red and layered that on Baja Breeze.  The two layers were sponged with Rose Red and Baja Breeze ink.  The dsp butterfly was attached to the Not Quite Navy with a couple of Mini Glue Dots.  Three Basic Pearls were added for the body.  I stamped the word "well" from the get well wishes stamp in the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set on River Rock, punched out with the 1/2" Circle Punch and layered on Baja Breeze punched out with the 3/4" Circle Punch.  A dimensional was added to pop it up.  I was going to add white ribbon on the strip of dsp but it just seemed like too much, so instead, I added a row of Basic Pearls.  It turned out to be the right choice I think.  I hope you have a relaxing weekend planned and great weather to enjoy it in.
