Halloween Cutey

I always surprise myself when I make a Halloween card but the Picture Perfect Creations #71 color challenge had the best colors for this type of card.  I also used the Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge #3 for the layout and the Pals Paper Arts 110 - Halloween.

The card base is Lucky Limeade card stock.  I then ran a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock through the Big Shot with the Houndstooth embossing folder and attached it to the card front.  The image from the Greeting Card Kids stamp set was stamped on watercolor paper with StazOn ink.  I colored the image with a blender pen using Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, Island Indigo, and Lucky Limeade ink.  The corners were rounded with the Corner punch.  I matted the image with
Pumpkin Pie, Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade card stocks.  Before adding this to the card, I punched both sides of a strip of Rose Red card stock with the Scallop Trim Broder punch, added a piece of Island Indigo
Ruffled Ribbon and a Lucky Limeade brad.  This layer was added to the front and the image layer popped up over it with dimensionals.  The sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set was stamped on Pumpkin Pie card stock with Island Indigo ink and punched out with the Modern Label punch.  I punched a piece of Island Indigo card stock with the same punch, cut off the ends and used them to mat each end of the sentiment layer.  Lucky Limeade brads were added.  Dimensionals were used to add this to the card front.  This was a great stamp to watercolor but I wasn't sure what to do about her hair; none of the colors seemed quite right!  To resolve this I added Pumpkin Pie ink to the blender pen, wiped it on a scrap piece of paper to take off some of the color and then colored her hair.  I also added a little Sahara Sand ink to add a shadow under the pumpkin and broom.  The colors were challenging but that is what the challenges are for.  Have a wonderful Saturday.  It's absolutely a gorgeous day here today; so nice after all the rain this past week.
