HAPPY NEW YEAR

Here we are at the start of another new year - full of hope and good intentions for the coming year.  My wish for all my friends out there in blog land is for a very blessed and happy new year that far outshines last year.  With my card today I wanted to not only wish you a wonderful start to 2012 but to encourage you to not only dream but to dream with enthusiasm.  I used three challenges when creating this card:  colourQ challenge #117, Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #182 and The Friday Mashup #39.

Whisper White card stock was used as the base of my card.  I added a strip of Twitterpated designer paper (this is available January 4).  One long edge was punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.  Another piece of Whisper White card stock was run through the Big Shot with the Houndstooth embossing folder, spritzed with Frost White Shimmer paint that was mixed with rubbing alcohol and matted with a piece of Basic Black card stock.
The numbers for the new year were cut with the Big Shot and the Timeless Type Alphabet die.  I added them to the white embossed layer with dimensionals.  Dazzling Diamonds were added with a glue pen.  This layer was then added to the card front.  The sentiment from the Word Play stamp set was stamped on Whisper White card stock with black StazOn ink.  I then covered the whole thing with VersaMark ink, added Heat & Stick powder, and heated it with the Heat Tool.
While that was still wet, I added Iridescent Ice and heat set that also.  This adds such a beautiful glimmer as you can see on the close up photo.  The sentiment was added to the bottom of the card.  I glimmered up the Island Indigo brad the same way I did the image.  I turned under both ends of a piece of Black Scallop Dots ribbon, added the brad, and attached it between the image layer and the sentiment with glue dots.  I hope you are enjoying the start of the new year and you "imagine the possibilities" this coming year both in life and your creativity.
