Monkey Guest Designer

I have been invited to be a guest designer for the A La Card Monkey Challenge #106 this coming week.  It was because I was chosen as one of the picks for challenge #104 for this My Digital Studio created card.  As well as the sketch, we had to use blue as the main color.  That led me to participate in the Stampin' Royalty Challenge #121 - Monochromatic.  I don't really need a new baby boy card, but that was the first thing I thought of for blue.

As you can see, I turned the sketch 45 degrees to the right.  The base is Bashful Blue card stock.  The Bashful Blue panel was stamped with the Packed for Baby stamp in Bashful Blue ink.  I matted this with Marina Mist card stock and tied a Marina Mist bow around it.  It was then attached to the card front.  One hand from the Baby Prints stamp set was heat embossed on Whisper White card stock with VersaMark, Marina Mist ink, and clear embossing powder.  It was punched out with a 1-3/4" Circle Punch and attached to a scallop circle.  Doodle dots were added to each scallop with a white gel pen.  The sentiment's from the Baby Prints stamp set were all stamped on Marina Mist card stock with Whisper White Craft ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  They were all punched out with a 1" Circle Punch.  The word boy was matted with a Whisper White circle.  I added a white ring around the other two sentiments by first punching a piece of Whisper White card stock with the 1" Circle Punch and then punching around the opening with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch.  I added the rings to the two sentiments.  I attached all the circles with glue dots and the scallop image with dimensionals to the card.  I punched out two of the smallest heart from Marina Mist card stock using the Heart to Heart PunchBitty Buttons hearts were added to each.  A piece of White Baker's Twine was tied in a knot through the holes and the buttons added to the card with glue dots.  Well, there you have it - my blue monochromatic monkey sketch guest designer card.  I hope you get a chance to have some fun being creative by taking on one or both of the challenges this week.  Have a great weekend.

Patti, I love this card, and the way you turned it on its side. The little heart and twine details are terrific, along with the background stamping. Thanks so much for being our Guest Designer this week at A La Card Monkey!
