Shimmering Snowflakes

Today I'm sharing my weekly Christmas card for the Merry Monday Challenge #36.  I also used some of the colors from the Color Me Beautiful! Color Challenge #7 (you don't have to use all the colors in the challenge).  With the chilly weather we're having here, snowflakes can't be too far behind.  You don't have to worry about shoveling these though.

I chose Old Olive card stock for the base.  This is a square card but it will fit into a regular envelope.  The paper was cut at 4-1/4" x 8-1/2" and folded in half.  Using Frost White Shimmer Paint mixed with alcohol, I heavily spritzed a piece of Pacific Point card stock for a really glittery look.  After being sure it was thoroughly dry, I ran it through the Big Shot

with the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder (love this folder).  If you double click on the photo, you might be able to see the sparkle a little better.  It was then matted with Bashful Blue card stock.  A piece of Old Olive ribbon was added and I then attached this layer to the card front.  A piece of River Rock card stock was also spritzed with the same shimmer mixture.  It was used to cut out the two smaller snowflakes from the Snow Flurry Bigz Die using the Big Shot.  An Old Olive Glimmer Brad was added in the center of the two snowflakes.  Dimensionals were used to attach it to the card.  Dazzling Details was added to the embossed snowflakes to add a little more sparkle.  A simple card to make that has a whole lot of shimmer.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
