Warm Hearts in Winter

Today I have my weekly Christmas card for the Merry Monday Challenge #35.  My colors are not your conventional ones used for Christmas (hubby won't like this one) but it doesn't hurt to go out of the box a little.

Early Espresso card stock was used for the card base.  A piece of Very Vanilla card stock was embossed using the Big Shot and the Lacy Brocade embossing folder, spritzed with Early Espresso marker and the Color Spritzer Tool and added to the card front.  The image from the Christmas Lodge stamp set was heat embossed on Very Vanilla card stock with VersaMark and Early Espresso embossing powder.  Using the distressing tool from the retired cutter kit, I distressed the edges of this layer and sponged the edges with Early Espresso ink.  I used a Bone Folder to break down the fibers on one corner of the image, separated and curled the layers and matted it with Early Espresso card stock.  It was then spritzed using the Color Spritzer Tool and the Early Espresso marker and then attached to the card.  Dazzling Details was added to the snow areas on the image.  I cut two strips of the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack, flagged the ends and added them under the image.  The sentiment from the retired Merry Winter stamp set was colored with Early Espresso, Bashful Blue and Island Indigo Markers, stamped on Very Vanilla card stock, punched out with the 1" Circle Punch and sponged around the edges with Early Espresso ink.  I then matted it with Bashful Blue and Island Indigo card stocks and popped it up on the card with dimensionals.  A Rhinestone was added to the sentiment and each designer paper strip.  That's it for this week's Christmas card.  Have a great weekend.
