Week #39

Today I have my Merry Monday Challenge #39 Christmas card to share with you.  As you can see, it's a pretty clean and simple card.  This was a great sketch to work with.

The card base is Very Vanilla card stock.  Another piece of the same card stock was embossed using the Big Shot and the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I matted it with two strips of Cherry Cobbler Card stock and added it to the card.  A piece of the Be of Good Cheer designer paper was also matted with Cherry Cobbler card stock and attached using glue dots.  Because this card has so many layers and I mail most of my cards, I used the Stampin' Trimmer to cut out the centers of the mats for the designer paper and sentiment to eliminate some of the bulk and weight.  And you can save the cut out pieces for a future project.  The sentiment from the Delightful Dozen stamp set was heat embossed on Very Vanilla card stock with VersaMark and Gumball Green embossing powder and matted with Cherry Cobbler card stockGlue dots and dimensionals were used to add this layer in order to keep it level.  Another piece of the Be of Good Cheer paper was flagged at one end with a square punch and matted to Cherry Cobbler card stock.  This too was attached using glue dots and dimensionals.  The stars from the Merry Minis stamp set were heat embossed on Very Vanilla card stock with VersaMark and Cherry Cobbler embossing powder and punched out with the star punch from the Merry Minis Punch Pack.  I attached them with glue dots.  Three pearls were colored with a Cherry Cobbler marker (after lightly coating them with Mod Podge first) and added to the card.  This week I managed to finish my card with 24 hours to spare.  I hope you're enjoying your weekend.  Would love to see some sunshine here; it has certainly been a while since we've had a sunny day.  See you soon.
