First of the Year

What, you ask, didn't Christmas just end?  Yes, it did but the Merry Monday weekly challenges have started again.  This year they will be challenging with not only sketches but color, themes and tic-tac-toe.  This week I have paired up the Merry Monday Challenge #44 with the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge #68.  The colors are a bit unconventional but it doesn't affect the wishes you want to convey.

I chose to use Whisper White card stock for the base.  Another piece of Whisper White card stock was cut out using the Big Shot and the Labels Collection DiesReal Red, Pool Party and Island Indigo card stock was punched out using the Merry Minis Punch Pack and attached
to the white cut out.  I then ran it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  The edges were sponged with Pool Party ink.  I also pierced around the inside edge using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack.  This layer was attached to Island Indigo card stock.  Pieces of Real Red Stitched ribbon and Pool Party Ruffled ribbon were added as well as two Island Indigo Printed brads.  The sentiment from the More Merry Messages stamp set was stamped on the bottom using Whisper White Craft Ink.  The whole layer was added to the card front.  Some Pearls were added to the punched out stars, trees and ornaments.  I know most of you are tired of creating cards for the holidays but if you make just one a week, by the time Christmas rolls around again you won't be rushing to make cards at the last minute.  Believe me, it was well worth the effort.  Have a terrific weekend.  I hope you get some time to be creative with card stock.

Patti, Another great card. I made a commitment to make Christmas cards each month so I wouldn't be so backed up come December.
