Jolly Penquin

If there was ever a day to get in the mood for a Christmas card, it was today.  We live in the northeast and were recipients of 8" of snow.  My son who lives in Connecticut got at least 3 feet of snow.  Yikes!!  This card is for the Merry Monday Challenge #48 and the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #72.  I really had to put on my super-charged mojo cap to come up with something with these so non-traditional colors.  You can see I kept it quite clean and simple.

The card base is Whisper White card stock.  To a piece of Marina Mist card stock I added a piece of Basic Gray designer paper, a piece of Whisper White card card and a piece of Pumpkin Pie card
stock that was embossed using the Big Shot and the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The sentiment from the No Peeking stamp set was colored with Marina Mist and Pumpkin Pie markers, huffed on and stamped on the white card stock on this layer.  This layer was added to the card front.  I then colored the penquin image from the same stamp set with Basic Gray, Marina Mist and Pumpkin Pie markers and stamped it on Whisper White card stock.  It was punched out with the large Scallop Circle Punch and matted with a Marina Mist circle.  The left edge of the image layer was trimmed off and added to the sentiment layer.  Four Pumpkin Pie brads were added along the cut sideI attached this to the card using Glue DotsLike I said, this was a very easy card to pull together after I figured out what to do with the colors.  Definitely a challenge this week.  I hope you're enjoying a good weekend.  Hopefully you weren't affected by the blizzard.  If you are in the middle of it, be safe.

Really cute. I may have to case this one for my Christmas collection. I have been making Christmas cards each month. So far so good. Of course this is only the second month.
