Father's Day for a New Dad

Can you believe I've actually got a father's day card ready to go?  The Paper Players Challenge #146 asked you to create a clean and simple masculine card and I loved the colors on the Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge #252.  The Clean and Simple on Sunday Challenge #8 called for "Pretty Pastels"; not all the colors are pastel but they are light enough so I thought I would submit it.

For the card base I chose Naturals White card stock.  This is a favorite of mine for guy cards.  The image from the Clockworks stamp set was stamped directly on the card front with So Saffron ink.  I then added the splatter from the French Foliage stamp set using Sahara Sand ink.  I heat embossed the pocket watch and watch face with
VersaMark, Soft Suede ink and Clear embossing powder.  I cut out the watch and punched out the watch face.  The edges of both were sponged with Sahara Sand ink.  The face was attached using Glue Dots and the watch was attached to the card with Dimensionals.  I looped Linen Thread a couple of times through the Silver Designer Button, tied a knot and attached it to the card with Glue Dots.  The sentiment from the Delightful Dozen stamp set was stamped on the card with Sahara Sand ink.  I colored in the word "Father's" using the fine tip of the So Saffron marker.  Definitely clean and very simple to create.  Sometimes this type of card is more challenging than something a little more elaborate.  It can still create an impact.  Thanks for coming by and please leave a comment if you'd like.  I do read them and appreciate the time taken to leave one.  Have a nice evening.
