Greetings for a Friend

My card today uses my favorite designer paper.  I really enjoy the possibilities of the neutral colors and varied designs.  I used three challenges in creating this card:  The Paper Players Challenge #160; Sunday Stamps Challenge #57; ABC Challenge #42 - No Flowers.

Using red and pink together is not something I would normally do but if you mix in neutral colors it can work.  Very Vanilla card stock was chosen for the card base.  To a piece of Real Red card stock I added a piece of Modern Medley designer paper that was cut diagonally.  I cut off a little of the two thinner strips so the red card stock would show through.  I added a piece of Melon Mambo ribbon  to the center of each strip and attached this layer to the card.  The sentiment from the Label Love stamp set was heat embossed on Very Vanilla card stock with VersaMark and Black Embossing Powder.  It was punched out with the Artisan Label Punch.  Using the same punch, I punched out one piece each of Real Red and Melon Mambo card stocks.  I cut each in half and used them to mat the top and bottom of the sentiment.  Dimensionals were used to attach it to the card.  A black permanent marker was used to color Rhinestones that were added to the card after they dried.  This is definitely a card that works if you need to make multiples.  With so many patterned papers out there, the options are limitless.  Thank you for coming by.  I hope you're getting ready for the long holiday weekend.

Gorgeous colors, especially used sparingly with your field of vanilla and black. Love the black rhinestone and that little bit or red peeking through your layers. Thanks so much for sharing your creation with The Paper Players, Patti!
