A Chevron Birthday

I have a class coming up and wanted to do birthday cards.  I think this card will fit the bill for a masculine card.  For inspiration I used the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #122 and the Seize the Birthday - Chevrons.  Read on for the recipe.

I chose Smoky Slate card stock for the base (love that color).  A piece of Pool Party card stock was embossed with the Big Shot and the Chevron Embossing Folder and attached to the card front.  On a piece of Whisper White card stock I stamped two of the images from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set using Pool Party and Smoky Slate inksIsland Indigo card stock was used to mat each of the long edges.  The sentiment from the Delightful
Dozen stamp set was heat embossed on Whisper White card stock with VersaMark and Smoky Slate Embossing Powder.  I matted it with Island Indigo card stock.  On two corners I used Island Indigo Chevron Ribbon to give it a frame-like look.  My intention was to do all four corners but the ribbon seemed to overpower the image.  So on the other corners I added Island Indigo Candy Dots in Candy Dots Brad Holders.  This whole layer was added using Glue Dots and Dimensionals.  Thanks for coming by.  I hope you had a great weekend.  It's starting to snow here again in the Hudson Valley.  Oh well, it is winter.  Stay warm.
