Bravo

My card today is for my lovely daughter-in-love.  For the past year or so, along with working full time and being mom to my beautiful granddaughter, she has been studying in most of her spare time for her licensing exam as a clinical psychologist.  And last week she found out she had passed.  We are so proud of and excited for her.  I used the sketch from the CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge #73.

The card base is Summer Starfruit card stockSahara Sand card stock was embossed using the Big Shot and the Decorative Dots embossing folder.  A strip of Sweet Sorbet designer paper was matted with Summer Starfruit card stock and attached to the embossed layer.  I attached the Pool Party Baker's Twine using a glue pen I had on hand and then added to the card front.  The sentiment from the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set was heat embossed on Whisper White card stock with VersaMark and Pool Party Embossing Powder and punched out with the 1"  circle punchSummer Starfruit card stock was punched out with the 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch and used to mat the sentiment.  The Pool Party doily was cut out with the Big Shot and the Delicate Doilies Sizzlit.  I added dots around the edge with a white gel pen.  I added the sentiment to the doily with Glue Dots and popped it all up with DimensionalsPearls were added as the finishing touch.  I hope this card helps express our joy in her success.

I love how the embossed dots coordinate with the designer paper. Using the twine for the squiggly part of the sketch is a fun touch! I'm glad you shared your card with us at CAS - Colours and Sketches, and I hope you'll join us again soon for another challenge! :)
