I decided I wanted to do a birthday card with a mix of bright colors. I used the Paper Players Challenge #196 and the Seize the Sketch Challenge #20 as inspiration for the card. The Paper Players asked for a clean and simple card with flowers. Although I only have two flowers, the designer paper has the stem and leaves. Looks like the deer ate the flowers.
Card Base: Whisper White used. Scored on the Pool Party piece with the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. Whisper White strip embossed with Chevron embossing folder. Both attached to Rich Razzleberry. Rich Razzleberry ribbon added and layer attached to card front.
Layer Down Center: Retired Sycamore Street designer paper matted with Rich Razzleberry. Added to center of Pool Party layer.
Sentiment Layer: Sentiment from Wetlands stamp set. Heat embossed with VersaMark and Tangerine Tango embossing powder. Cut out with an Oval Framelit. Tangerine Tango cut out with another Oval Framelit. Both ovals were paper pierced using Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack, attached together and Dimensionals used to add to card. Flowers punched out of Rich Razzleberry and Pool Party with Petite Petals punch, Centers punched out of the same designer paper using one of the Itty Bity Shapes punches and added to the center of the flowers with Glue Dots. Flowers attached to sentiment layer with Glue Dots. The finishing touch was little Pearls added to center of flowers and over the "i" in Birthday.
Clean and simple in my eyes. One thing I've noticed when doing this type of card, I use a lot of tools and very little stamps and ink. I also like texture on the card. The long weekend is almost here. I hope everyone enjoys their time off. See you soon.
