Another Butterfly Birthday

I must be longing for spring because I have another birthday card using a butterfly.  Two challenges were used for inspiration:  Fab Friday #58 and showCASe your style #9 - Birthday.

For the card base, I used Smoky Slate card stock.  A piece of Calypso Coral card stock was run through the Big Shot with the Fancy Fan embossing folder and added to the card.  Coastal Cabana card stock was used for the long strip.  I used the Petite Curly Label punch to give a decorative edge to each end of the strip.
The sentiment from the Wetlands stamp set was heat embossed on Whisper White card stock using VersaMark and Smoky Slate embossing powder.  I cut it out with the second from the center of the Window Frames Framelits as well as another from Smoky Slate card stock.  The Smoky Slate was cut in half and used to mat the sentiment layer.  I stamped a piece of Whisper White card stock with the Something Lacy background stamp using Coastal Cabana ink.  The Butterflies Thinlits Dies were used to cut it out as well as one from Smoky Slate card stock.  The gray butterfly was added using liquid glue and then the stamped one was added with Glue DotsCalypso Coral Candy Dots were added for a little pop of color.

Thank you for checking out this post today.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  We're expecting a visit from our precious granddaughter.  Soooooo looking forward to it.  Sure hope it doesn't snow.

Fun color combo for this card! I like how the butterfly pops against the Calypso Coral panel! And your smart use of the punch for the banner edge is a great detail! Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!
