Hi there. My sister-in-law and 2 friends all have birthdays this month and all in the same week (2 are on the same day). I wanted to make a winter-themed card but not have it look like Christmas. For inspiration I used: CAS(E) this Sketch #200, Addicted to CAS #102 and CASology #227 - white space.
For the card base I used Old Olive card stock cut 4-1/4" x 11 and scored at 5-1/2". I used a piece of Whisper White card stock for the next layer. Before attaching it to the card I heat embossed the sentiment from the Balloon Celebration stamp set using VersaMark and Copper Embossing Powder. I cut two of the pine branches from Old Olive card stock using the Pretty Pines Thinlits and added them to the white layer. The two pine cones were cut from Bronze Foil Paper andattached to two Early Espresso solid pine cones, all cut using the Pretty Pines Thinlits. I used this great idea for attaching the intricate pine cones to the solid ones. I then attached one using Fast Fuse and the other using Dimensionals. For the finishing touch I cut a bow from the same thinlits using Early Espresso card stock. It was attached to the pine cones using rolled up Glue Dots. Boy, was I tempted to use red for the
bow but that would have looked too much like a Christmas card to me. Clear Wink of Stella was used on the bow for a little shimmer. An Old Olive Enamel shape was added to the bow.
Since I needed three cards, I did two more using two different color greens: Emerald Envy with silver foil and silver embossing powder and Garden Green with gold foil and gold embossing powder.
Thank you for visiting. I'm a little behind with Christmas things so I'll be putting in some quality and quantity time in my crafting space. Have a great day. See you soon.
