A Basket of Sunflowers

I did a little coloring for the Paper Players Challenge #358.  We're have some really great weather here in the northeast, cooler temps and very low humidity, some very fall-like weather so maybee that inspired my  color choices.

Card Base:  Very Vanilla Thick CS cut at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"; score at 4-1/4".  Before going any further, I heat embossed the sentiment from the Basket of Wishes stamp set first with Cajun Craze ink and then Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder.

First Layer:  Cut two 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" squares from the Painted Autumn DSP (new starting 9/1); I then cut them in half diagonally.  I attached them to a 3-7/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Cajun Craze CS and attached it to the card front.

Image Layer:  Stamped the basket and the flowers from the Basket of Wishes stamp set on Watercolor Paper with Basic Black Archival Ink.  Before doing any coloring, be sure the ink has dried (ask me why I'm saying that).  Early Espresso ink was used to color the basket with a Blender Pen.  The flowers were colored in with Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist and Early Espresso Markers.  The image was cut out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and matted with Cajun Craze CS cut using the Layering Squares Framelits.  I used Dimensionals to pop up the image on the card.

The Finishing Touches:  I added a touch of Clear Wink of Stella to the center of the sunflower and the little berries.  A bow made from Linen Thread was attached with a Glue Dot.  Four hearts from the Regals Enamel Shapes were added, one in each corner.

Sounds like a lot of work to pull this card together, but I found the coloring was the most time consuming probably because I need lots more practice.  Thank you for stopping by.  Have a great weekend.
