Candles to Celebrate

Starting out the week with a masculine birthday card based on 2 sketches:  CAS(E) this Sketch #156 and Seize the Birthday - option of candles.

Card Base:  Crumb Cake CS cut 4-1/4" x 11"; score at 5-1/2".  I used the Celebrations Duo Embossing Folder to get the debossed word celebrate.

Image Layer:  The candles are from the retired birthday candles wheel; I removed the rubber from the wheel and converted it into a regular clear mount stamp.  Using my MISTI, I colored one candle at a time using Crumb Cake, Tranquil Tide, Night of Navy and
Chocolate Chip markers on Very Vanilla CSCrushed Curry marker was used on the flames.  The MISTI makes it possible to get good ink coverage, especially when using the markers.  Clear Wink of Stella was added to each flame for a little shimmer.  A strip of Tranquil Tide CS was added to the top and bottom of the image layer.  I added a piece of 3/8" Crumb Cake Classic Weave Ribbon and attached the layer to the card front.  The sentiment from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set was stamped on Crushed Curry CS with Tranquil Tide ink and added to the ribbon with Mini Dimensionals.

The Finishing Touch:  I added three gold Metallic Enamel Shapes for an added festive look.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  Hope you enjoyed today's card.  Have a great week.

Taking your old SU wheel apart and making it one stamp was a fabulous idea! These candles look fabulous! They are so uniform and perfectly stamped from a stamp that was once curled! I am impressed! Love the debased sentiment too! Thanks so much for being in our gallery at Seize the Birthday and using our topping!
