Life is Just A Bowl of .... Apples

At this time of year, apples have taken over from cherries so I used them today in my card.  My inspiration came from two challenges:  Mojo Monday 158 and Picture Perfect Creations Color Combo #32.

The Mojo Monday challenge was a round or square card.  As you can tell, square won out.  This is not normally a card size that I make; most of my cards get mailed and the USPS will charge extra to mail square ones.  But, some times you just bite the bullet.  The base is just a single square piece of More Mustard card stock.  On top of that I layered the actual "card" cut out of a scored piece of Cajun Craze card stock with the Scallop SquareDie.  Be sure to leave the folded piece of card stock below one of the scalloped edges so that you will maintain the scored side.  I matted a piece of Pear Pizzazz with More Mustard, wrapped Hemp Twine around it three times, tied a bow with the Victoria Crochet Trim on the left side and adhered it to the card front.  The image from Studio Sketches was stamped with StazOn onto Watercolor Paper and colored with Cajun Craze ink pad, More Mustard ink pad, and Pear Pizzazz ink pad using an Aqua Painter.  The Cajun Craze Marker was used around the top edge of the bowl for definition and Sahara Sand was used on the shadow of the bowl.  The matted image was popped up with Stampin'Dimensionals to raise it over the twine.  The sentiment from Teeny TinyWishes was stamped on Very Vanilla with Early Espresso ink and punched out with the Modern Label Punch.  From four scrap pieces of Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Cajun Craze and Pear Pizzazz I used the same punch to punch one of each.  The ends were trimmed off and layered on each side of the sentiment.  Two Cajun Craze brads from the Regals Brads collection were added and the sentiment was attached using dimensionals.  I love the colors of Fall and these colors certainly reflect some of the best.

I really like this card and I especially like that you used the square scallop die and made it into a folding card and then layered it onto another piece. I have to make three masculine cards for three college students from our church. Thanks for inspiring me and blessing my day. :)
