Merry Monday Finale

Hi everyone.  It has been a while since I have posted but I came up against a medical issue the day before Thanksgiving and ended up being hospitalized for a few days.  Thankfully, I'm doing fine but have gotten off track with my blogging and creating.  Today's card is a non-traditional looking one for the Merry Monday Challenge #43 and the 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown November embellishment challenge - Pearls.  This is the last sketch of the year for the Merry Monday challenges but they will return January 7, 2013.

For the card base I chose Marina Mist card stock.  The sentiment from the More Merry Messages stamp set was heat embossed on a piece of Marina Mist paper from the Polka Dot Parade designer paper using VersaMark and Midnight Muse ink.  It was then matted with Brushed Gold card stock and attached to the card.  I cut out the
center of the Brushed Gold card stock so I only had a frame to attach the designer paper too; this avoids too much bulk and wasted paper.  A strip of Midnight Muse card stock was matted with two strips of Brushed Gold card stock and added.  A piece of Brushed Gold card stock was heat embossed with VersaMark and retired Iridescent Ice embossing powder for a real shimmery lookOut of this I punched three scalloped circles with the 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch and attached them to the Midnight Muse strip.  The three ornaments from the Merry Minis stamp set were heat embossed on Whisper White card stock with VersaMark and Gold embossing powder, punched out with the ornament punch from the Merry Minis Punch Pack and attached to pieces of Marina Mist card stock punched out with the Small Oval Punch.  I attached them to the card with glue dots.  Pearls were added to the ornaments, scalloped circles and the "i" in Christmas.  That finishes up a year-long Christmas card challenge.  I managed to participate in 41 out of the 43 challenges and have a good supply of cards.  Thanks for stopping by.  Hopefully I'm in the groove again.
