It's been almost a week without posting but I have been working on some treat holders I'll need next week. I'll share them when I'm done. The card was created to get me away from the other project. Three challenges were used for inspiration (what would I do without challenges!!): Try Stampin' On Tuesday Challenge #162, Stampin' Up! Only Challenge #94 - Easter, and Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #298.
As you can see, I rotated the sketch 90 degrees in order to use the sentiment I did. Very Vanilla card stock was used for the base. On the edge of a piece of Gumball Green card stock I used the cross stitch from the Needlepoint Border embossing folders rather than ribbon or card stock. To this I added a piece of Watercolor Wonder designer paper. When I do a color challenge I check to see if any of my designer papers has
any of the colors from the challenge. This paper had a sheet with a mix of Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango. Perfect. The designer paper layer was then added to the card. The sentiment from the retired Glorious Gift stamp set was heat embossed on Very Vanilla card stock with VersaMark and Gumball Green Embossing Powder. This is one of those stamp sets that I won't part with because it truly expresses what Easter is about. I cut the sentiment out with one of the Labels Framelits as well as a piece of Tangerine Tango card stock using the Big Shot Magnetic Platform. The Tangerine Tango was cut in half and used as a mat on each side of the sentiment. It was added to the card with Dimensionals. I stamped a couple of flowers using the Petite Petals stamp set on a piece of scrap from the designer paper with Gumball Green ink and punched them out with the Petite Petals Punch. Another was punched out of Tangerine Tango card stock. The small scalloped circles were punched out of Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight and Gumball Green card stocks with one of the Itty Bitty Shapes punches. After attaching one to each of the larger flowers with Glue Dots, I pressed in the center of all using the Simply Scored Stylus. This leaves an indentation that gives the flowers some dimension. After adding them to the card with Dimensionals and Glue Dots, I added the finishing touches of Pearls in the center of each. I enjoyed creating this card and making the challenges work together. We have a beautiful day here today; I hope you're enjoying the same.
